Surface Modification Examples

The surface of a component is often the most critical determining factor in the performance of that part or of the whole assembly!  

 

We offer a very wide range of surface coatings and treatments to enhance the performance of your device or component.  We treat a wide range of materials including glass and ceramics, hard metals, alloys and composites.   

 

We have made industrial sewing needles ultra hard to resist Kevlar abrasion.

 

We provide surfaces to stainless steels to resist oxidation in prolonged oxidative and high temperature environments, as us about the experiment we have been running for over 10 years in one of our high temperature process ovens... 

 

We have the only molecularly thin halogen resistant surface for stainless steel that works.  Our AMCX-2148 and 2286 surfaces are multilayer composites that can significantly improve the service interval in sampling and fluidic transfer applications. 

 

Our encapsulation and passivation surfaces can be made to resist both acids or bases, sometimes both.  By comparison, we typically remove inferior coatings from other companies with simple hydroxide soaks— some of these come off almost instantly— while some of our surfaces cannot be removed without removing some of the substrate base material as they are a solid state alloy with or alloy base.

 

We have several anti-coking surface systems used in detectors, combustion and transportation systems. 

 

We have several surface systems used in medical devices and in medical production.  These surfaces are non hemolytic, non irritating and are comprised of FDA GRAS materials, suitable for full contact or implantation. 

 

We have a wide range of low surface energy surfaces available used in sampling and septa piercing applications as well as surgical and hypodermic needles.  We can provide these surfaces to glass and archival unit surfaces such as vials and sampling units.
